Botanicals on Film

I try to keep a cheaper (consumer-grade) roll of film in one of my 35mm cameras at all times- you just never know when you’re going to walk out the door and see the sunlight- pouring through the bush in a perfect way, casting a gorgeous halo around a flower, or illuminating the drops of dew on a petal. So these are some of those times I spontaneously picked up the camera; either when something caught my eye by chance, or I had the itch to shoot and sought out some beauty in my own yard. Florals- yet another reason I love summer! 🙂

Then just a few weeks before we left for Mexico this summer, I knew I needed to use up the rest of this cheaper roll in the camera (because I took all nicer film to document the Mexico trip) Andy’s good friends from high school came down to visit us that weekend and when they come, we always hit up St. Louis for the great places it has to offer. This time it was Bailey’s Range, Cafe Natasha’s, Gelateria, and the Missouri Botanical Gardens! So of course, the gardens were the perfect place to use up that roll! We need to go more often- close by, cheap for city residents, and sooo beautiful!
